I am opposed to receiving any unsolicited telephone calls, period. This is why my number is on the National DNC Registry. Even with this registry, I still receive calls unsolicited calls from telemarketers who disregard the DNC Registry, most probably with the hope that those receiving their calls will do no more than hang up on them. I'm tired of answering the phone to hear a hang-up from a computer-generated call hoping to find the best time to get a "real person" to answer the phone. I work from my home and all these calls are annoying and disruptive and I would be opposed to any change that would loosen the current restrictions on telemarketers. Telephone service is not free and I certainly am not interested in having some huckster to waste my time pushing their unwanted goods or services. There are plenty of other ways for these people to get their messages out to the public without using my money to do so. If anything, please make it harder for telemarketers, politicians and others to use a service that I pay for as a means of achieving personal gain. Thank you.
