We put our names on the no call list for a reason; if we want to talk to someone about business deals we will call them. Besides that my husband works late night and sleeps when we are awake. Now, this new law would undo what we are supposed to have taken care of. Why are their wishes more important than ours? We deserve a right to choose who we wish to speak with and who ties up our answering system. We have elderly parents, six children, 12 grandchildren and many friends that we would prefer to do these things. How much more can the consumer take? We work hard, pay our bills, pay our taxes and expect to be able to choose if we want to make a call for anything we may want or need. Our elderly parents got very upset and called us when they received calls before and we don't want them to go through that again. THAT IS WHY WE PUT OUR NAMES AND THEIR NAMES ON THE NO CALL LIST. Mom will be 79 and Dad will be 89 in a few months. Everything is too confusing for them when they don't understand something. When they receive paperwork from Medicare or even the doctor's office, they don't understand what they have received. We take care of all their business for that reason. Just because they have a phone that doesn't mean they are capable of receiving telemarketing calls or any other business calls. This is how so many elderly people get scammed. It is very unfair. So please, we beg of you not to allow this to take effect. Please.
