As a private citizen, I dont think that businesses should be allow to avoid the current do not call list regulations by using pre recorded messages.. They were doing this before the law. Plus at the same time, as technology as it is, there is privacy and security issues. Privacy, if we want to contact a company, we have the internet, there is print, radio and too much on television, for them to get their word out, thus they dont need call us. Security, who is to say that someone could set up a scam business, and then cheat people, also to see if they are home or not. Plus how many times have companies been caught selling customers information to third, fourth, five parties. Look at the recent AOL scandal, where an employee was caught selling to telemarkerters subscribers email and marketing preferences for what GREED. Funny I only heard that the employee was fired, but AOL wasn't fined by the ftc or any federal agency?? Which brings up creditablity issue of how ftc handle these cases.. But again do not change the rules for the pre recorded messages, if people wanted them, their number would not be listed in the do not call list.. Thank you for your time ANTHONY SKOIEN
