I signed up for the do not call list as soon as it became available because I was tired of annoying marketing calls disrupting my sleep. I'm a night shift worker and most sales calls are made during my prime sleep hours. I am capable of reading ads, watching commercials and using the yellow pages. When I am in need of a service, I prefer to be the one initiating the contact with the company of my choosing. It has been a blessing not to have be bothered by businesses looking for the impulse buyer. How will an amendment to this benefit the consumer? The fact that so many of us "opted-out" should be an indication of what we prefer.
