Around 64 million people have signed up for the national no call list, as well as a sizeable number for my state's no call list. This is because they have had it with annoying telemarketing calls at all hours of the day, especially at dinner time. During this past election campaign season, my phone rang off the hook with mostly recorded political messages, which were exempt. The general public needs more privacy, not less from annoying and unwanted phone calls. The proposed loophole would only weaken the current law. Just because a business relationship has been established, doesn't mean the calls would be welcome.
