I think opening up a loophole for telemarketers will be just one more goal for them to continue invading the privacy of homes. Our phone still gets 8 to 12 calls per week from unsolicited telemarketers. They block their numbers so caller id can't identify them, or they use one of those services that send bogus caller id information. They don't remove names when asked to do so and they call repeatedly especially if you don't answer or hang up on them. After several attempts some actually get nasty. Our phone has been place on the National Do Not Call Registry, but it hardly dents the calls. We have made our number private, but auto-dialers defeat that. So giving telemarketers an new edge will only create more rude privacy invading phone calls.
