Subject: Continued FTC reporting on tobacco sales

Please continue to provide the annual reports on tobacco industry sales, marketing, etc.. This information provides a picture, in broad strokes, of any changes made in cigarette consumption and the role advertising and marketing may or may not have on sales.

It is possible that future reports would help pinpoint smuggling from one state to another or other illegal activities.

I am a health educator at a community medical center and use the information in my work of smoking prevention and cessation. It is also useful for looking for any cost/benefit to tobacco control activities. In Maryland, as our Cigarette Restitution Fund monies go to each county, we will need independent information to see if we are on the right track or not.
