FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION, Identity Theft Task Force (“Task Force”) Regarding “SSNs In The Private Sector - Project No. P075414” . Gentlepersons, My name is Dennis Arthur Bozung, President of DACO Investigations LLC; a State of Michigan licensed private investigative agency. As a licensed investigator serving to protect the interests of both the private and public sector it is imperative that credentialed professionals continue to have legitimate access to accurate identifiers including Social Security numbers. This number remains the only true accurate identifier to date and is a necessary tool in conducting a successful investigation. Although I agree with the necessity to restrict general access to individual's SSNs by the general public, credentialed professionals who have been scrutinized and approved by state authorities to conduct investigations should be exempt from any potential changes regarding access to this information. Licensed investigators and security professionals provide an extremely valuable service to this nation. Restriction to social security numbers will hinder the success of investigations that actually protect the private and business interests of our society at large. Please consider this when addressing Project No. P075414. Sincerely, Dennis A. Bozung, President, Daco Investigations, LLC, www.dacoinvestigations.com 734.646.2246
