I understand the request by some to make writing a script mandatory, but I feel this is redundant and not cost effective for the client. In Colorado, we are required to give a script if the client requests one. Many of our clients already use on-line pharmacies and we link to one on our web site.
When a script is filled in our office, the client is handed a precautionary form for the drug with side effects and adverse reactions highlighted. I am afraid this will not be the case from on-line and human pharmacies. This could lead to death in some of our patients.
Most of our clinets prefer the convenience of having their presicription filled while at the hospital.
