Non-veterinary pharmacists are not trained in dealing with medicines which are specifically for animals (large or small.) Veterinarians and veterinary pharmacists are the only ones trained to know the physiology of animals (large or small) and the effects of the medicines on animals, especially the medicines which are not allowed to be sold on a prescription (or any other) basis to humans. Since non-veterinary pharmacists are not trained in the above-mentioned areas of pharmacy, they should not be allowed to be in the position to sell, advise on or recommend medicines prescribed solely for the use of clients in treating their animals (large or small.) Thank you for the opportunity to comment on this proposed legislation.
