I do not support the mandatory writing of a prescrition for all pet medications even if prescribed by my office. The Humsn Pharmacy Industry does not have in place any certification process for those trained in animal pharmacology and possible side effects in companion animals that are different from human interactions. This would put the public at risk to getting their pet medications from possibly pharmacists untrained in animal pharmacology. The vetereinary peofession alrready provides a written prescription when requested by the client.
