Human doctors would not want pharmacists trained only in veterinary medicine to dispense to their patients. Animal drug dispensing should be done only by the veterinarian or veterinary pharmacists.
If a consideration is COST TO CONSUMER, then, despite views of online phamacies and some un-thinking consumers, THIS BILL WILL GREATLY INCREASE CONSUMER COSTS.
If vet clinics loose the Rx income stream, they will simply have to raise their other prices...they must in order to maintain themselves and their employees. Not to do so would mean job losses.
So consumer will spend the same at their vet clinic as before passage of the bill, plus an extra amount somewhere else for the needed drugs. Just silly.
