I have been a practicing veterinarian for 30 years. The law is a burden at least, requiring much unnecessary, time consuming paperwork and harmful to pets AND humans at worst. Imagine a client going out with a filled prescription for antibiotics in hand and then going to get it filled as well, essentially having a double supply to use when the client thinks it is "needed". Antibiotic resistance will certainly increase. The law is unnecessary. If a client wants a prescription instead of the medication, and they can get it elsewhere, we'll give them one. The free market works already - we don't need more paperwork, please!
