with the recent crisis regarding the compounding of drugs for humans the thought occurs to me whether this is common practice with pets. its easy for the industry to portray itself as advocates for pets while charging outrageous amounts of money with no regulatory oversight like the fda. if vets use drugs that are effective for people, can you say that their testing and development warrants the prices charged for medications. the pet insurance industry has no regulatory oversight either. the pet industry realizes enormous profits and no incentives for developing generic equivalents for overpriced medicines. i wholeheartedly support the reintroduction of the bill.
