I am retired, but wish to comment on this bill. When I was practicing, prescriptions were always written in the patient's record. We filled prescriptions at the time they were written, but did give paper prescriptions if they were requested, if we did not carry the medication, or if I knew the client could fill it cheaper somewhere else. This bill is unnecessary and increases the cost of veterinary medicine which will then need to be passed on to the client one way or another. In the years that I owned a veterinary practice, I had to increase my prices not to increase my profit, but to help pay for the increase cost of running the practice due to new government regulations. If you want to help keep the cost of pet care down, then do not pass this bill!
