Sir/madam
pet clinics mostly charge office visit as low assuming the client will get medicines from their pharmacy--at the end if the client asks for a prescription instead of getting medicines at the pharmacy why cannot we charge an administration fees because many a times the prescription bounces back because the online pharmacy(choosen by client) may not carry the medicine in the potency we asked for--so we have to reopen the file and update everything and fax it back(multiple times)--waste of time and secretarial work.(in human medicine they charge high initially from insurance companies so they donot bother about writing a prescription-so better not to compare with them for charging for writing a prescritpion)
2.while many online pharmacies sell medicines at low price(we donot know the quality? from canada,Asutralia etc?)--why cannot a veterinarian sell online medicines(no compounding of medicines but already made by manufacturers) to any client with valid prescription submission eventhough not having client -doctor relation ship.( we have to adopt according to changing business structures based on time).
