Veterinarians in Oregon have been concerned that some retail pharmacists in the state have changed the dose of veterinary prescriptions or changed the prescribed drug to another product -- both without contacting the attending veterinarian and receiving his or her authorization. To better document our concerns and to find out what veterinarians across Oregon have experienced, the Oregon Veterinary Medical Association conducted a survey of its membership. Results of the survey indicated both good news and bad news. Please see the attached summary for more details.
