The result of the proposed changes are thus; Walmart ends up taking business from another sector of their community, Veterinarians have to change their price structure to charge appropriately for services rather than product, and the consumer will save little and spend that much more time in line at Walmart. Veterinarians are not getting rich. We have traditionally offered our services at close to our cost value and compensated through product sales. We will have to adapt to survive financially by charging more for our services. Walmart will be the winner here, not the consumer.
