This is an example of an unnecessary legislature that promotes inefficiency and will place an unnecessary burden on the individual veterinarian. The animal owner public are already aware that they can purchase pharmaceutical products outside of their veterinary clinic, hence the recent growth and profitability of on-line pharmacies. There are many clients that will not take action soon enough to fill a prescription (in the case of a severe infection, etc) or will internally down play the need for their pet to start medications (out of sight out of mind) once they have left the hospital and patients will suffer because of this.
