As a practicing veterinarian I am opposed to any new federal legislation and regulation of private veterinary practices on the false premise that costs for pet medications to pet owners would decrease. On the contrary I think overall costs will increase as has been seen since the entry of large corporate practices into the profession. There already is much competition among different styles of practices for costs of services and medications.
