As it happens, I just talked tomy DVM YESTERDAY ABOUT 2 TUBES OF BUTE HE SOLD TO ME IN THE LAST WEEK OF MAY 2012. They are already out of date and he charged $25 PER TUBE!!!!!! ICHECKED ON LINE AND FOUND THE COMPANY THAT SUPPLIES HIM HAD BEEN FOUND WITH THE BUTE POWDER TO. BULK -PRODUCE THIS STUFF THEY GOT FROM CHINA. CLEARLY, DESPITE THE VETS SUBMITTING ALL THE. NEGATIVES ARE WORRIED ABOUT THEIR OWN BOTTOM LINE. WITH A SCRIPT , I CAN ORDER A TUBE MANUFACTURED BY MERCK FOR $14., less if I order 6 at a time and they will not expire before I can turn around. My vet charges me $81 to drive to my farm from his office 11 miles away!!! I certainly cannot be responsible for sending all of his children to college,What better company than Merck for clean reliable products. I worked for ASTRA ZENECA for 20
+ years, DVM's dispensing is no different from MD's who had to give it up years ago.
THIS IS LONG OVERDUE AND REPRESENTS A CONFLICT OF INTEREST FOR THEM TO PRESCRIBE AND DISPENSE. IT COST ME OVER $600 TO TREAT A HOOF ABSCESS, A BIG PART OF THAT ,ABOUT 70% PAIN MEDS AND ANTIBIOTICS. WE WANT TO CARE FOR OUR ANIMALS WHO ARE PART OF OUR FAMILY,BUT I .NOW SEE WHY SO MANY PEOPLE ARE UNABLE TO GET BASIC PET CARE AFFORDABLY.
WE SHOULD HAVE A CHOICE, ASK FOR A SCRIPT OR BUY FROM THE VET. THIS CONCEPT WORKS FAIRLY FOR EVERYTHING ELSE IN LIFE, IT IS CALLED OPEN, FREE MARKETS. HELP US AS CONSUMERS, PLEASE.
