It has been nearly 40 years since I leased a car. The experience decided me never to do it again. It had nothing to do with the sales staff, but we wound up paying a great deal more by leasing than we would have if we had placed a down payment and paid the remainder off on time. I was so discouraged by the high cost of leasing that on one later occasion I even paid cash for a new luxury car. This purchase was only possible because I had come into some extra money, but it certainly has been wonderful not to have the concern of payments.
