The comments of the Center for Democracy & Technology (CDT) are attached. You can also find CDT's comments here: https://www.cdt.org/blogs/harley-geiger/2304mobile-payments-can-expose-more-consumer-data-and-weaken-privacy-laws
CDT's comments focus on three points regarding mobile payments and privacy: 1) Mobile payments expose more consumer data to more parties than traditional credit cards, 2) Mobile payments will enable companies to build detailed consumer profiles and will weaken laws against telemarketing and spam, and 3) To maintain consumer trust, mobile payment services should provide strong privacy controls to users.
Thank you for hosting this workshop and providing the opportunity to offer comments.
