Comments:I am Co-CEO and General Counsel of Ben Bridge Jeweler, Inc. headquartered in Seattle. We are a chain of 74 retail jewelry stores throughout 12 Western and Central states. Platinum products form a large part of our inventory. At this time, we see no reason to change any of the FTC guidelines regarding the definitions of platinum. Changes, without a great deal of public education, would only tend to confuse and mislead the consuming public. There has been no showing of any immediate need to make changes to definitions which have long existed and adequately served the industry and the American consumer.
