Please ban the use of tanning beds for women under the age of 18. Today,alone, I saw 2 women with melanomas with long history of tanning bed use as teens. One is 27, the other 21. Melanoma is on the rise. Our small practice of five clinicians diagnose 5-10 per month. We spend, on average, 5 minutes of every annual visit discussing photoprotection, a significant amount of time in this day and age of shortened visits. Yet teens continue to tan because the "look" good. Consider the cost in health care dollars.
