I fully support the FTCs stance on the ludicrous claims made by the tanning industry in an effort to promote unsafe exposure to carcinogenic ultraviolet light. Current science indeed is showing that some amount of UV exposure is healthy for human function. But the amount of UV needed for health purposes if far below the amount needed to cause tanning and carcinogenesis. Myself and other practicing dermatologist support the FTC in this decision.
