i only use organic products. i do my own in depth research on every product i use for myself and my family; therefore, i know what to buy and not buy. my suggestions are as follows: the FTC could set up an organic board similar to what the USDA does and this organic board would only be for cosmetics. And without this certification, no product would be allowed to use the word organic on their label. In addition, The Environmental Working Group has a cosmetics guide that explains what each chemical is that is being used in cosmetics. So it seems to me that this needs to be a partnership between the FTC and the people. both groups need to take responsibility to educate themselves so that the FTC is working to reduce if not eradicate the issue of manufacturers using "organic" inappropriately and consumers need to take responsibility for using things like the EWG consumers cosmetic guide to learn for themselves what they are buying. if our government would run this way...with cooperation between the powers that be and the people, we would have a much happier, healthier society.
