I was disturbed to learn that there are no regulations in place regarding the labeling of "Organic" non-agricultural goods. I specifically seek out "Organic" hair products, lotions, cleaning products, etc - in the expectation that I am avoiding synthetic chemicals. After reading this it seems that I may need to revisit the "Organic" non-agricultural products I have purchased. This is incredibly disconcerting to me, and I hope that the FTC will seek to exert regulation to clarify - especially since so many consumers (like myself until just now) are under the false assumption that such regulation already exists! I thought "Organic" anything had to be certified by a third party.
Thanks for your consideration.
