I try very hard to purchase only products that are chemical free in order to protect and care for my Family. I pay considerably more money for "green" items and that is just fine, if in fact I am getting what I am paying for. BPA and any and all toxic chemicals should be banned. BPA however is a great place to start since it is nearly unavoidable if you buy anything in a package or can. No one has to tell you it is there either. In the very least, companies should have to provide full disclosure of not only the ingredients in their product, but also what the packaging is made of. As consumers we deserve to be able to make a choice.
