There is no demonstrated benefit to consumer with ethanol blended fuels, there are many instances where ethanol should never be used, enough so that widespread implementation of ethanol blends will damage fuel systems and engines. No engine I currently use benefits from ethanol and most will be damaged. If the market needs ethanol, the market will demand it. There is no demand, only inappropriate tax breaks that distorts the market. We are not addicted to oil, we are addicted to the most inexpensive and viable fuel that the market can provided. Until ethanol can legitimately provide a capability, it must not be supported with tax dollars, or any other type of incentive.
