I just obtained a free credit report online, having also done that with another of the three credit companies four months ago. I believe it is unconscionable that a government-sponsored site/process is allowed to offer paid products or services such as a $7.95 credit score and other such promotions to taxpayers using the site. There should be absolutely NO advertisements or offers for commercial products or services, either during or after the process of obtaining a free credit report. The government has no business assisting companies in selling their products or services. Thank you.
