The advertising on TV and on the Internet by these credit companies advertising a "Free credit report" is a scam. Not only them, but others now advertise "try this for free" and it is a lie. If you request the free item you must sign a form whereas the company automatically forces you to provide your credit card and subscribe to a monthly report. Other companies also advertise "free product" but you must agree to purchase more in the future. Yes anyone can cancel but sometimes to cancel is a big hassle and takes time and a few calls. No one should have to be obligated to do anythng other than request a free report and get it. That does not happen.
