I enthusiastically support new rules that prevent or control advertising for products and services and free offers with links on Annusualcreditreport.com. For years I have been using this site 3 times a year to obtain a free report every 4 months from one of the nationwide consumer reporting agencies. In March 2009 while trying to obtain a free report from Experian, confusing links and instructions led me without realizing it to another site called freecreditreport.com. Without warning or authorization I began receiving $4.95 monthly charges on my credit card bill. It took phone calls to a hostile representative and action by my bank to stop those charges. I support any amendments and changes in rules that will prevent the consumer from being tricked into this fraudulent behavior by the credit reporting agencies.
