|Rule:||16 CFR Part 610 Amendments to Rule to Prevent Deceptive Marketing of Credit Reports and to Ensure Access to Free Annual File Disclosures|
Comments:I am very happy to see this rule restricting the presentation of advertising to after the consumer has received his/her free credit report. I would like to make the following suggestions for inclusion. The rule should be amended to indicate that the credit reports may be requested at different times during the year. I am reading this to mean they can provide all three reports at once. I currently ask for a free credit report from each of the agencies in turn every 4 months to have a more up to date vision of issues with my credit report. A requirement should be included to inform the consumer of the last date a free credit report was delivered. This will allow the consumer to determine when they may request another free report and from which agency The rule should prohibit sending free credit reports to third parties. It should provide that the third party may provide a link, forward a form to be completed by mail, or forward a telephone call to the annualcreditreport.com telephone number. Thank you.
