Comments:I was appalled and it is appalling the credit companies even given information about costs when folks go for a free credit report. It's manipulative, disgusting, inconvenient and wrong. The site should have no offers asking for money. Instead they should ask "have you requested a free report within the las 12-months and give folks the opportunity to check yes or no. Otherwise, they should stop immediately with this pouncing on people, misleading them and making folks think they have to pay for credit reports, credit scores before they get the free report. I got mine after being on the web site for too long and I did not get my credit scores because I had to pay. Shameful. And the credit card companies need to stop lowering credit scores everytime someone requests a report. Why is that. That too is a practice that is irresponsible. Why do they do that. These shameful tactics by companies leave consumers confused, manipulated and with no power or freedom to live in a free society without demaning money for everything and punishing consumer. Shameful.
