New Report: Adult Obesity Increases in 16 States in the Past Year Since 1995 rates have doubled or nearly doubled in 17 states. STATE-BY-STATE ADULT OBESITY RANKINGS--- #16. Kansas (29.0%) STATE-BY-STATE ADULT OBESITY RANKINGS IN 1995---- #36. Kansas (13.5%); STATE-BY-STATE ADULT OBESITY GROWTH RANKS SINCE 1995--- # 4. Kansas The obesity growth rate for Kansas is devastating. We have a dramatic shortage of family physicians, especially in rural areas which lessens the prevention and treatment of obesity related disease. Marketing to children must be monitored and regulations enforced that prohibit the marketing of products or food that increase obesity. Healty food and products should be given priority with marketing time and dollars.
