Absolutely commerical speech towards children should be regulated! Young children are not capable of understanding that marketing has an ulterior motive. As a physician, I am tired of watching the ravages of obesity erode our nation's health. I would ask that if the food manufacturers do not make a good-faith effor to comply within eighteen months, that the guidelines become mandatory. I have no faith that the industry has any capability to self-regulate. And please take away their subsidized corn syrup while you're at it.
