Submission Text
I strongly support the proposed guidelines to limit the bad fats, sodium and additional sugars in foods that are advertised to children. Although the guidelines are only voluntary, hopefully they will help curb the problem of obesity that we are experiencing in too many children today. This will also have a direct impact on limiting the medical and other health related costs that can result when our kids are constantly bombarded by advertising encouraging them toward an unhealthy diet. This is just like cigarette advertising. We should not permit food companies to promote an unhealthy life style without any guidelines, particularly when their advertisments are aimed directly at our children who do not have the knowledge to understand that these ads are wrong.
