Why should this be phased in over such an extended period of time? This means theses companies will get out of providing me with my free copy of my credit reports, which affect me directly the most, until late next year. The credit reporting companies should be required to provide a yearly report free to the person they concern most- the consumer who is directly affected by the information contained within the report. This should have always been true, and the government has been lax in ensuring that this happens. This is only fair to the consumer. Last I checked, corporations didn't get a vote - but citizens do!
