It is unbelievable how credit score companies like Equifax can do whatever they want with people's information. When people need to access their own information, companies like Equifax just try to upsell you their other products and try to lock you in with deceitful offers. Now, when people are in distress, they go ahead and sell people's information to sharks so they can abuse vulnerable people. This should be plainly criminal. 300k penalty? Really? That is just a slap in the hand. What about the pain and lasting consequences that people fall to the lending sharks? I believe the business model of companies like Equifax, transition and experian is just wrong. They should be there to provide a service to the people, and not sell people's information whenever they can profit from people.
