Australia and New Zealand share common appliance standards and a common MEPS and energy labelling regime for them. (Your research will likely have turned up our existing label). I am on the joint Standards committee that deals with refrigeration - including labelling. As a consequence of our aligning our MEPS levels with the USA ones (with some tweaking to account for different test methods) we are, quote, running out of stars, quote. As a consequence we are considering revising the rating algorithm - probably going to a common algorithm for all appliances rather than different ones for different groups (classes). There is a paper discussing this available on www.energyrating.gov.au/library/details200601-rf-algorithm.html You may find this useful. If you need any further information, please ask. Best regards, Lindsey Roke
