I ran across this link on social media and was asked to share thoughts on it.
So here goes nothing, I don’t steal computers so I don’t want to be spied on. If however I did or if I lost my computer or it became stolen I sure would like it. Last year, I lost my iPhone (actually it was stolen) and Apple tracked it and located it for me.
So I can see why rental stores would want to do the same thing. As long as I’m not breaking my rental contract then they should NOT be able to monitor my computer. But after that, then it’s their computer so why can’t they? Actually, I get a 10 day grace period before it is considered stolen, but after that I’m fine with it.
Now for the bad news, starting this month I lost my discount for agreeing to have the software installed. This really pisses me off and is going to have to cause me to return some items. $20 a month may not sound like a lot to you, but for me and my family it is a lot.
It seems strange to me that I was perfectly happy with my lease contract before you entered into the picture. You could have cleared things up making sure I understood what I agreed to and that I was fully informed. In which case I would have said yup, and you’d moved on and I’d still have my $20. It’s a shame that you did NOT allow me to make that decision as an adult for myself.
