Once any individual is contacted about a debt, the social engineering practices of the debt collection industry will be in full effect against that individual, and will very likely lead to situations where they are pressured to pay off debt obligations that are not theirs.
Opening up grieving people to this kind of attack by unscrupulous bill collectors is unconscionable.
I understand that there are some safeguards against this type of practice, and yet, the debt collection industry is innovative in its attempts to navigate around restrictions. For this reason, I feel that allowing looser restrictions on the debt collectors, especially in regards to grieving persons in times of duress, is not a wise, nor morally correct, is not healthy for our county.
