Debt Collectors and banks are already profitable enough. At what point does the American government stop bleeding out the people to help the profitability of the large corporations? By allowing the debt collectors to now harass friends of the deceased to fulfill the debts, you now are, in essence, telling people to demand a credit check and bank statement before they become friends with someone to potentially avoid harassing phone calls from a collector. This is wholly unreasonable.
To allow a collector to use a moral high ground to attempt to push a friend of a deceased debtor into paying serves to isolate the friends of the deceased at a horrible time, when having a solid group of friends and family is critical.
