Allowing collectors to harass ANYONE who is not specifically responsible for a debt as the debtor or cosigner to said debt is a very bad idea. The FTC is responsible for consumer protection and if it is not fulfilling it's functions should be eliminated and it's duties transferred to an agency or regulatory body that will.
