I take a generic medication called [redacted]. I have been charged around 10 different prices for this medication by cvs, wallgreens, kaiser, rite aide, and an independent pharmacy. Medication is paid for by medical and possibly medicare. I have perscription d coverage with wellcare. Wellcare does not pay for the med, but medical picks up the cost since wellcare does not. All these pharmacies use these "doughnut holes" to make me pay for it. They tell me its not covered by wellcare. That is true, but why do they not bill medical. Some times they do, some times they don't. Some times they tell me it is not formulary and it is not covered. Share of cost. 30 day period. This would all be true for some individuals, but I qualify for extra help through social security as well as having medical which to the best of my knowledge means all that stuff goes out the window and the medication should be paid for. The money issue is one thing, but the amount of stress it has caused from trying to understand the whole thing is even worse. I have over half a dozen receipts showing the different amounts.
