In regards to the proposed rule for the Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule, I feel that these are very important details that should be added to a law. It seems that everyday we learn of a story where a child's personal information is released to the public. That information should not be collected by a company in the first place.
Changing the rules so that permission from the parents is obtained before a child is allowed to input their information is very important. This will protect the privacy of any child who uses the internet which is where most children can come into contact with situations that will require their personal information to be inserted.
I feel that this regulation will go a long way to securing the present and future privacy of the children in this country. It does not cut down on the number of situations that children can come across where this will be needed but it can make parents feel more secure about what their kids come across on the internet.
Thank you.
