|Rule:||Proposal to Rescind FTC Approval of the Current Cigarette Test Method|
Comments:I think rescinding of FTC approval is a good idea. It gives the illusion that our government is approving or at least condoning the harm that smoking does. Additionally cigarette companies have devised ways to produce machine results that greatly underestimate the actual tar and nicotine that a smoker receives. One such method is the introduction of vents in the filter that let in air diluting the tar and nicotine while actual smokers close these vents with their lips getting much higher levels of tar and nicotine.
