I am concerned about the care label changes. I wait on customers everyday who do not know, care or understand the appropriate cleaning methods for their clothes. Please do the following:
1. Refer to wetcleaning as "Professional wetcleaning". Customers will think wetcleaning means they can wash clothes at home. In fact, special equipment, detergents, and finishing equipment make wetcleaning work. Most consumers do NOT understand the difference.
2. ASTM standards need to include GreenEarth as a specific cleaning method just as other dry cleaning solvents are listed. It is a proven, silicone solvent, safe to people and environment. Please use the GreenEarth symbol and please continue to use the "all solvents" symbol. Include GreenEarth in the symbols for "NO PERC" solvents.
3. Include vinyl, metallic, leather, silk, elastic, etc under reasonable basis examples.
4. Keep "dry clean only" when suitable. Include label "Do not wash" alongside "dry clean" and "professional wetclean". Consumers need clear instructions.
