Comments:
I, Nicholas Horak, am writing to express support for tough standards in any sort of market- based carbon emissions program. A specific, reliable, and detailed metric is necessary if carbon offset purchases are to have any use those purchasing them. This is because without trust in the result of the purchase, the actual intended goal of the purchase is not achieved. Consumers who purchase a carbon offset should have a very high level of confidence that in fact, carbon emissions were reduced as a result of that purchase, and reduced by the amount of the purchase. We don't want scam artists stepping into the emissions trade, and we want to make the planet greener. Only by having tough standards and agreed- upon industry metrics can those ends be achieved. Thank you, Nicholas Horak
